What We're Looking For

If you like music and also love writing, then there could be a spot for you here with the Shufflewire team! We have contributors all over the UK – and we are always on the lookout for new talent! We are currently looking for enthusiastic contributors who have a great passion for all things music, music business and marketing, instruments and entertainment.

First and foremost, we’re looking for writers with a solid knowledge of the English language, as well as the music scene! Also if you’re not interested in writing, we’re also looking for vlogger (video bloggers), podcasters, videographers, photographers and more!

It’s a completely flexible role, so you can contribute articles whenever you’ve got some spare time too – no pressure!

What We Write About

If you don’t already know, Shufflewire is a completely free-to-access directory and network with a key focus on the needs of anyone who works in the music industry. Our users can also post classified ads where they can promote your upcoming gigs, sell gear and equipment, as well as post jobs.

So as you can see, we write about all things music targeted at music lovers, musicians, bands and music-industry businesses such as venues, studios, shops, services and manufacturers. We produce all sorts of great content that we can use to engage with our users, fans and followers, as well as to attract new subscribers to our directory services.

Here the categories that we cover:

  • Discover – New Music, Artist Spotlight, Album Reviews etc
  • Watch – Music Videos, TV Shows, Movies, Live Sessions, Virtual Concerts etc
  • Listen – Podcasts, Songs, Interviews etc
  • Learn – Music Business Tutorials, Tips, Advice etc
  • Play – Gear, Technology, Gifts, Games etc
  • Read – Industry News, Interviews, Stories, Competitions etc
  • Go – Experiences, Travel, Venues etc

We have a loyal, dedicated and enthusiastic following on our website and across our social channels, so you’re content will be reaching thousands of people.

All of our contributors get their own profile for all your posts, so they’ll be linked to your name, therefore gaining your own recognition to build your own following. For those of you who may already run your own blog, this could also be a great opportunity to publicise it. Your name, bio and links can be added to each and every one of your posts.

If you’re looking at becoming a music journalist, this could be a great place to start! We’ll provide strong recommendations and credentials that can be used for university applications (for journalism students) or for a future job position.

Interested in reviewing? Our reviewers get a tonne of free stuff such as albums (for sampling purposes), merchandise, instruments, gear, tickets to various gigs and festivals, as well as experiences and meals!

Lastly, you can write from anywhere, even from the comfort of your own home!

The Sad Part

Aside from some of the awesome benefits above, unfortunately, at this stage in time, we cannot pay our contributors. We simply can’t afford it – not yet anyway!

However, we do share 50% of the revenue that we receive from advertising that we place in the articles you write. This share is completely dependent on how many people view your article, so it’s really important to get as many people as possible to view and engage with your article.

In the near future, we do hope to properly pay our contributors – hopefully, it won’t be too long!

So if you’re interested, fill in the application form below and let us know more about you and what you’d be interested in doing with us.
